About the Office
The Controller's Office primary function entails the financial accountability and receipt of all funds for the City of Muncie processed through the following transactions:
- Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Approves all purchases
- Investments
- Payroll
- Permit Applications for Transient Merchants
- Prepares all budgets
- Reconciliation of all Bank Statements
Finance division
This division is headed by the head of the department of finance. This division has the responsibility for all financial matters and other duties assigned by state law, the city code, and the head of the department of finance.
Purchasing division
The purchasing division is headed by a purchasing director, who reports to the head of the department of finance and is appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the head of the department of finance with the approval of the mayor. This division has the responsibility for all purchasing matters and other duties assigned by state law, the city code, and the head of the department of finance.
Data processing division
